Sorry for the long silence. I'm just dropping by to give you a quick updates and now we, Orangutan lovers which consists of three sweet girls mainly from SMK Wangsa Melawati have to fight for our PMR exams which will be held on this Wednesday. So, we will not be updated anything on this blog because we have to struggle and do our best on this whole week. Activity continues!!!

Yesterday, we had another activities that suitable for kids and not forgetting, us;). We held the activities at Mu'izzah's house around 5pm. Many of her siblings friends come to join our activities. First, we explained to them about what is orangutan, their population, why they are almost extinct and others info about orangutan.

Then, after all the explanation, we were having a short quizzes to test their understanding and their memory about the orangutan's info we gave during the explanation. Here's the photos.

Then, we held a drawing competition. Most of the children taking part in this competition because the prizes was quite great;). Other than that, you know, kids. They love drawings so much...

For the last activity, we did some 'handprint'! We coloured our palm with some colours and paste it on a white cloth. All the kids had so much fun! Then, they took picture together.

That's all for yesterday. Finally, all the activities we planned successfully fulfill. But, actually we have a little more project to be done as soon as possible. I am sure those kids were having a wonderful and great time together, besides, they are now know more about orangutan! Ok, I am going to end right here. See you again on next post.

The Big Book of Orangutan

Finally, after about two weeks, we finished our very own Big Book!! Ok, I know maybe some of you want to know the contain of this BigBook right? It contain a lot of info all about our beloved creature, Orangutan. In that BigBook, we put Orangutan's info as much as we can so that the reader will have a piece of knowledge about orangutan. Oh ya, before I forgot, we are planning to contribute this big book to our shool library after the school holidays. We hope with this big book, our young generation will know how important to save orangutan in todays life because their children might not probably knows who is orangutan. Orangutans Need Your Help

Do you know that everyday there's at least one orangutan died in the forest? It is all because of human's bad attitude that don't know about others and busy making money and search for wealth.They even willing to destroy the habitat of orangutans to build the most biggest building that can be collapsed anytime by earthquake.

Even though they are just animals that don't have a good thinking and cannot talk fluently like human but they are also God's creature. God's creature that don't have any sins and mistakes towards human but why us, humans, willing to disturb their lovely home??? The reasons that human always used is not acceptable at all.

*Human's willing to burned this orangutan's habitat just for money.

Are you willing to let them died each day by that cruel way??? What do you want to tell to your next generation when they asks you about orangutan??? Where can you find orangutan when they want to see them??? Can you ever let that cute little creature died??? Can you???

So please, dear human, stop destroying their home! They also want to live freely at their own habitat without any threat and disturbance. Help them,human!!! They need us to protect themselves!

Last Friday, we held a stall which sells variety of things such as cake, drinking water and chocolate. We have obtained as much as RM 100 results of our sales. According Putri, we will submit the proceeds of sale to Zoo Negara . I want thank them who had buy goods of our stall no matter teacher or student.

Treat Animals Kindly

In the Qur'an and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet), it is emphasized that animals be treated as humanely as any other of God's vast creation. The Qur'an goes as far to say that cruelty to animals is equivalent to cruel treatment of a human being. Kind treatment of animals is considered a good deed in the same sense that good conduct and treatment between human beings is deemed a good deed. The following Hadith illustrates this point:

The Prophet said, "While a man was walking he felt thirsty and went down a well, and drank water from it. On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst. The man said, 'This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine.' So, he (went down the well), filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth and climbed up and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for his (good) deed and forgave him.'' The people asked ``O Allah's Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving (the) animals?'' He replied: ``Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate (living being).'' (Narrated by Abu Huraira -- Volume 3, Book 40, Number 551)

So, protecting animals give us nothing but benefits. This will balance the world. It goes the same with protecting orangutan.


Hope that orangutans will live until the end of the world. There will be no extinction if we humans care about their life. Deforestation can jeopardize their life. So, we, the youth and the assets of world, should contribute in saving the orangutans, also the others animals having extinction.

Fun Facts about orangutan

• In Malay orang means "person" and utan is derived from the word hutan, which means "forest". Therefore, orangutan literally means "person of the forest."
• Orangutan share almost 97% of human DNA!!!
• Orangutan can make sponges from the leaves!!! They chew the leaves to soak up water in tree cavities when water is difficult to get.
• Orangutan makes an umbrella by using a big leaves to protect himself from heavy rain.

How to Save Endangered Orangutans

Endangered orangutans live on two islands, Sumatra and Borneo, in Asia. Some estimates suggest that orangutans could become extinct within the next decade or two. Threats to their survival include habitat loss and illegal pet trade. Their slow reproduction rates also contribute to the problem.

Step 1 : Adopt an orangutan by providing money for his care. The Orangutan Foundation International, for example, offers individuals, families and schools the opportunity to assist in their conservation efforts by "adopting" an orphaned young animal. You'll often receive photos and news about the animal you choose to adopt.

Step 2 : Purchase recycled paper and products made from sustainable timber. Habitat destruction continues to put orangutans in danger. Because eco-labeling can be inconsistent, it's best to not to purchase any type of tropical hardwood to avoid supporting rainforest destruction.

Step 3 : Take an eco-tour to see orangutans. Some organizations offer you the chance to visit and assist refuges. You can help do research on wild orangutans, assist with daily caretaking at the wildlife refuge or simply observe the animals. Creating an environment that makes orangutan survival profitable will help governments and businesses take action.

Step 4 : Buy only sustainable palm oil or products using sustainable palm oil. Conversion of habitats to palm oil plantations has happened across the great ape's habitat. Owners of the plantations clear-cut lowland rainforests, leaving no habitat. Many plantations consider orangutans wildlife pests and kill them when given the chance.


Step 5 : Support zoos and other organizations who sponsor breeding and research programs. Visit the zoos, donate money to the programs and support community education initiatives. Captive breeding programs may help sustain the species and research can help experts come up with new conservation strategies.

Step 6 : Hold a fundraiser with the donations going to orangutans. Donate the money to one of the conservation organizations and use the occasion to educate others about what they can do to help save endangered orangutans.

Tomorrow's event;)

Tomorrow is Friday and we are going to open a small stall at our school. It is also one of our main activity in this project. Our stall is located behind the fish pond and we're going to start sell the items at recess time. We're gonna sell our hand-made delicious chocolate sponsored by Puteri's mother and some Marigold drinks. We also sell button badges with 2 different design but you


must make an order first. It is because we want to know if our product is accepted by public. We're not doing this by ourselves alone cuz there are of many of our classmates and teachers have volunteered theirselves to help and also support us from behind. Thank you. We also give out some flyers about the extinction of orangutan to the people who bought our products and also some petition for them to sign. We will post the photos and maybe a video if we have for you guys to see our good achievement;)

A message for the readers out there

Dear viewers, sorry for not posting any posts in this whole week. We just finished our PMR trial exams and we still have tonnes of works to do. I'm writting you this post just to make a quick update. For everyones information, we're going to carry out our whole activities starts from this week,indeed. Have a visit to the kindergarten is one of our main activity in this project. It is because we want to give them an exposure about the extinction of orangutan and some ways to protect them. We also want them to cherish some love and care to orangutan because as we all knows, most children loves animals so much and that is one of the other reasons we want to held our activity there. Besides telling them some story about orangutan, we also held some activities to make the visits more interesting and memorable and we also give some souvenirs for them like our hand-made bookmarks and a pencil. We will post some photos and maybe a video after the visit. I can't wait;)

Kita bertemu lagi;)!!! Lawatan ke Zoo Negara sememangnya memberikan satu kesan yang amat mendalam bagi diri saya...yelah, pasti banyak lagi spesies Orangutan yang terancam dan perlu diselamatkan..tapi lawatan ke zoo itu adalah satu pengalaman yang cukup menyeronokkan...sebab... hahah...adelah...hmmmpp,okay,back to our story..like Syazwani already said in the previous posted, rancangan pertama dah berjalan dengan begitu lancar...sekarang rancangan kedua!!! Kami dah merancang untuk menghasilkan beberapa jenis barang seperti button badges,bookmarks dan sebagainya selain membantu menyedarkan orang ramai tentang spesies orangutan yang semakin terancam ini...erm,saya rasa setakat ini saja lah post saya untuk kali ini...mungkin pada hari yang akan datang kita akan bertemu lagi...Insya-Allah...we still have a lots of works to do...;)

Ini pertama kali saya tulis dekat blog ni.. So, selamat berkenalan! Selain Puteri dan Syazwani, saya juga turut serta dalam usaha menjayakan program 'New Hope for Orang-Utan' ini... ikut kan perancangan, banyak aktiviti yang kitaorang dah rancang.. salah satunya, lawatan ke zoo! tujuannya, kitaorang nak mencari info tentang orang-utan ni.. sebenarnya, saya dah lama tak pergi zoo, so a bit excited lah juga.. haha! :) selain drpd kitaorang bertiga, krew-krew yg lain pun ikut... rasa-rasanya dalam 5-6 orang camtu lah...kott.. Dan ini saya rasa ini merupakan perancangan bagi kumpulan kami yang pertama.. harap- harap, semuanya berjalan lancar seperti yang dirancang.. insya-Allah;)bye!!!

Hello Again;)

Today's weather was fine..but maybe in the morning it was a little bit rainy but we still continue our daily routine at the school. Today we also started to discuss about some of the activities in this blog project. We have contribute lots and lots of ideas but we haven't get our sponsor yet. Puteri says that she will find the sponsor for us and I hope she will get it. The best thing is, we have managed to find as many crews as we can!!! It's true that the group must up to a maximum of 4 students...but hey!!! They're just helping us behind the scenes only..and they're doing it volunteerily. Thanks guys!!! Your contribution is priceless and we'll appreciate it. Speaking about the ideas, we don't want to post the activities now.We want to make it as a suprise for the viewers. Maybe in the next post because we decided to start the whole project on this Saturday and you'll see the progress on the next day or maybe next week, Insya-Allah. Haha...can't wait until this Saturday,it will be fun!!!
